Humengi®

More than just blocks. It is construction engineering technology.

Our block family consists of five main blocks and 23 additional configurations that can be used to build anything.

We are a solution for safe, affordable, sustainable construction to quickly address basic human housing needs around the world.

Humengi® blocks work together as homogeneous wall elements to form strong, fast and smooth walls without mortar or binding materials.

Our technology is pre-engineered for horizontal and vertical reinforcement within the wall to form a complete internal concrete skeleton.

Humengi® extension blocks allow designers and architects to design walls and buildings to one-inch increments.

Our engineering provides better value for all parties: homeowners, developers, contractors, builders, block factories, mold makers, investors, governments and non-government organizations (NGOs).

Humengi® technology produces a better end result while using fewer resources. It reduces the dead load of all building elements, including the weight of skeleton sections and foundations, and nearly eliminates onsite construction waste.

It is ideal for use in large scale construction projects where standardization, reduced cost and construction time are critically important.

Here is How Humengi® Works

Below are examples of other interlocking and dry stack systems.

Humengi® Versus Other Interlocking and Dry Stack Systems

Sparlock is the godfather of interlocking technologies, but it was not successful because it was too heavy and wasteful. Other interlocking systems are Sparlock variations. Humengi® is a completely different interlocking technology.
Sparlock was established in 1984 for firewalls between wooden houses in Canada. They tried to distribute it later as a building system in many countries, but it did not work well because, like all its copies, it was too heavy and did not have full connections at all wall junctions.

Here we show basic differences between Humengi® technology and other systems:

Unlike all other interlocking and dry stack systems, Humengi® technology allows wall length increments down to only one inch. It can be reduced further to obtain a precision of one millimeter if required. We know that this is not required in buildings, but this illustrates the power of Humengi® technology and the high accuracy of its production.
In all other systems, the wall length unit is 50% of the block or brick length and the minimum wall length increment is five inches.
Other systems may claim to be mortarless, but this not 100% true. They sometimes use mortar or some type of cement based glue. Humengi® technology never uses mortar in any case.
Humengi® is lighter than regular CMU and all other interlocking and dry stack blocks.
All other systems can lock in X and Y directions. Dry stack bricks can lock in Z direction, but double-layered walls are not fully connected. Only Humengi® technology interlocks in X, Y and Z directions, including with multiple layers if needed, with full wall connections in all directions (see TECHNOLOGY Page for details).
Sparlock and its copies can connect two walls at a corner. Others can connect at three or four wall junctions. Dry stack blocks and dry stack bricks are partially connected at two or three or four wall junctions in 50%, 33.33% and 25% connection percentages. Only Humengi® technology has 100% full wall connections in all cases.
Sparlock and its copies have a single direction corner block, so you must increase or decrease the wall length by 50% of the block length to change the corner direction. Humengi® technology provides a universal corner block that can be fitted in either direction without modification.
Some of these systems can be reinforced horizontally. Some of them need onsite steel cutting and all of them are vertically reinforced using only one single steel bar. Only Humengi® is fully reinforced horizontally and vertically with a fully connected steel frame that forms a complete internal concrete skeleton without any onsite cutting.
Regular CMU hollow blocks, interlocking blocks, dry stack blocks and dry stack bricks cannot build to a full height wall in one day because they have a filling limit maximum of four feet and they need filling supports. Humengi® walls can be built to full height and filled at the same time. They do not need filling support because Humengi® walls are always fully connected and locked in all directions. They can carry the concrete pressure without support.
Some of these systems can be used to build G+3 (4 stories) as a maximum, if building code allows. Humengi® can be used to build much higher than G+3. Humengi® can be used for structural walls, non-structural walls, light partition walls, separate strong columns and open spaces without walls.
With Humengi®, there is no need to fill entire walls like dry stack blocks unless code-required.
